The Trauma and Crime Scene Technician (TCST) course provides specific information for the proper inspection, scope, and cleaning practices of scenes contaminated with blood, body fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
Day 1 has a strong emphasis on health and safety requirements including an in-depth look at the hazards and contamination associated with trauma and crime scenes, appropriate safety practices including PPE, hazard and risk assessments, and contaminated waste handling, packing, transporting, and disposal.
Day 2 focuses on the procedural aspects of the industry – inspection and assessment, structural remediation (including cleaning, deodorisation, and disinfection), contents remediation, and the equipment, processes, and methods used specific to trauma and crime scene cleaning.
